Power Company, The Waconia Choir Boosters and the entire community of Waconia are proud to host Star Power “Where Show Choirs Shine” - Lake Waconia Show Choir Invitational held on Saturday, February 16th, 2008. At Star Power, we strive to provide the best experience possible for all performers, directors, adjudicators and spectators. We are committed to providing outstanding facilities with state of the art sound and lighting. We are proud of our diverse adjudication panel, which includes well-respected experts in the show choir world from across the Country. We have an entire community supporting Star Power by volunteering their time and talent and as enthusiastic spectators. We have friendly, helpful, knowledgeable hosts to assist you throughout the day. We have awesome food, and of course, some of the best show choirs from throughout the Midwest that provide a day full of family entertainment that just can’t be matched. |

Star Power 2008 will once again be held on Presidents day Weekend allowing our “out of state” guests an extra day to spend at the Mall of America shopping and playing at Camp Snoopy or at many of the other tourist attractions that the Minneapolis - St. Paul Metropolitan area has to offer. If you are looking for a Musical Theatre experience for your kids, the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre is an ideal destination. CDT is conveniently located midway between Waconia and the Mall of America. As you begin preparing for the competition season, we hope that you will consider Star Power “Where Show Choirs Shine” The Lake Waconia Show Choir Invitational as one of your competition destinations. The Competition
Star Power features competitive performance opportunities for schools of all sizes and ability levels. Star Power is a two-class competition featuring small schools, prep groups, and girls groups in Class A with large schools competing in the Open Class. All schools compete during the day in their own class. Trophies are awarded to the top six scoring groups in each class. The top scoring Class A and the top six scoring Open Class Groups will compete in the Evening Finals for a total of 7 schools competing in Finals to determine the Grand Champion of Star Power 2008.Facilities
- New addition to Waconia High School opening in the fall of 2007 includes new and larger classrooms with open common areas in a pod style setting. We have also expanded our dining facilities .
- Floor to ceiling curtains surround the entire stage transforming the gym into a fabulous performance venue.
- Comfortable and Spacious seating capable of seating of well over 2000 people.
- We will use a set stage with four rows of 4’ x 8’ "Stageright" risers at 8", 16", 24" and 32" heights.
- Total stage dimension - 40’ x 40’
- Costume changing stations available in the wings.
- State of the art sound and light system with 5 wireless mics and a monitor system for director. We have the best lighting and sound system around with professional sound and Light engineers working the system.
