About Us

Welcome to the website home of the Waconia High School Vocal Music Department.

There are now over 800 students at Waconia High School in grades 9-12 and about 180 of those are enrolled in one of three curricular choirs that meet every other day for 70 minutes. Other vocal music opportunities include a small group pull–out lesson program, the Fall Musical, Music Theory or Music Appreciation classes, various vocal festivals, solo and ensemble contest, All-State Choir and Power Company, Waconia High School’s “High Voltage” show choir.

Power Company is our competitive show choir that travels throughout the Mid-West. In just the past few years we have competed in the following states: MN, WI, IA, IN, and TN. Currently there are 64 students involved with the show choir as singer/dancers (44) instrumentalists (10) and stage crew (10).

Waconia High School is an “outer-ring” suburb in the southwest corner of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul) metropolitan area. We are a fast growing community with a small town feel on Beautiful Lake Waconia.

We hope that this site will be useful for students, parents of WHS Vocal students as well as our guests of Star Power and fans of Power Company.
